“Remix and Share” stems from the basic principle of CC: Share, Remix, Reuse – Legally. Remix, an approach of creation, includes a number of modern art phenomenon frequently observed in artistic creations, such as appropriation, conversion, etc. And Share, a voluntarily giving conduct, is actually an exchange from which the author may obtain more resources legally for his/her creation. The “Remix and Share” Exhibition promotes a public-interest-oriented spirit of share and cooperation. It intends to reveal the ecology of art featuring mutual integration and emulation, which is reflected by phenomenon known as “derivative”, “cross-borders” and “group authorship”. In this occasion, novel visional creations revealing the contemporary cultural integration and symbiosis from its own aspect are welcomed from artistic people in all fields.
In this December, Creative Commons China Mainland will present a CC licensed overall art exhibit on the theme of “remix & share” , with support from Inter Art Center, Artintern, Hudong Online, and MASH4. Artists are invited to submit their works from today onwards. A CC-licensed album for exhibited works, titled Remix and Share, will be distributed during the exhibition. There will also be a forum on this topic as well.
